S.S. Heat Exchanger / Condenser Tubes to ASTMA - 249

Introduction and Scope This standard covers the manufacture and supply of welded austenitic stainless steel, boiler, super heater, heat exchanger and condenser tubes.

Materials Material, is ordered to comply with the requirements of ASTMA - 240 in grades 304, 304L, 316 and 316L in general other grades such as 310, 321, 304H, 316H are manufactured against specific requirements.

Process Of Manufacture The tube is manufactured from colod rolled, annealed SS coil on continuous forming tube mills using TIG welding process under inert atmosphere. Subsequent to welding on mill, the weld metal is cold worked by bead rolling. All tubes ae then annealed to a minimum temperature of 104 degree Celsius, straightened, end finished, picked and passivated, tested and marked. Tubes are also drawn on draw benches wheenever Customer demands heavy cold working or closer & smooth ID.
